What We Do?
Students will be put onto small teams that they will play with for the duration of that sport. We play small sided games (5v5, 4v4, 3v3, etc) as this maximizes the amount of time each child touches and passes the ball. It also increases the amount of on court/field decision making.
Each week the students will play one-two games and they will keep track of stats, win/loss records and the standings. We will end each season with a fun playoff like tournament!
Students will also be put into leadership roles, run their own teams and learn how to work together with others to accomplish one goal. They will learn how to deal with success, failure, and competition. All in a fun environment! Developing many of these skills are essential in being a good leader in everyday life from the sports field, to the classroom, to the office. Sports offer us a great platform to teach these skills and more.
Important Things To
Students will be dismissed to the program on Thursdays after school. Please send an extra snack for students to eat durning check in. Please be sensitive to peanut allergies.
You will need to send a note to your child's teacher the first week of program to let them know they will be attending. For Example: "Ryan will be attending the sports afterschool club every Thursday Starting September 5th.
It's important that students attend each week so they don't miss games with their team. If they do miss due to illness or other reasons, please send me an email at Tayler.firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know they will be absent that day. ALSO NOTE: If they are at school on a day they will not be attending the program, you will also need to send a note to the students teacher to let them know they will be going home a different way that day.
