Rule Modifications

NFHS/GHSA rules apply with the following modifications for Rising 7th Grade.

Field Size

50x70

Game Length

1 Hour and 45 Minutes or 6 innings, whichever comes first.

Lineup & Roster

  • Teams must bat their entire lineup. If a player is injured, they will be allowed to drop that player from the lineup without penalty, but that player will be unable to re-enter that game.
  • Each player must play at least one inning on defense.
  • A courtesy runner can be used for the Pitcher/Catcher of record (meaning the pitcher/catcher from the previous defensive inning). The courtesy runner should be the last batted out.
  • Pitchers can NOT re-enter to pitch in the same game. They can re-enter freely on defense, just not as a pitcher.

Pitch Count Rules

Max per Game/Tournament: NO pitcher can exceed a total of 90 pitches (unless within last batter) in a game OR combined for the tournament.

Daily Limits: Once a pitcher exceeds 30 pitches (unless within last batter) they can not return to pitch the following day. They can pitch again the same day; however, they cannot exceed 90 pitches on the day and would be burnt for the remainder of the tournament regardless of how many additional pitches they throw.

Coaches should use discretion using a pitcher again the same day based on how long the amount of time is between games and how many pitches they threw.

Multi-Day: If eligible to pitch the following day, they cannot exceed 90 pitches for the weekend; therefore, their pitch count should start from the previous day total.

Bat Rules

Allowed: Drop 10, 8, or 5. All bats must have BPF 1.15. USABat/BBCORE/Wood is allowed if proper drop.

Weather Policy

In the event of lightning or heavy rain, games will be delayed until we have the all clear. If a delay goes more than 1 hour OR future weather dictates and at least 3 innings have been completed (top of the 3rd if home team is winning), it will be considered an official game. We reserve the right to make adjustments to game times, length, and location to serve in the best interest of all involved or the safety of players and fans. We will communicate all schedule changes or delays through the GameChanger app!

The following bats are prohibited in all divisions:
